Fitness Friday - Nutrition/Giveaway

How do you start your mornings? Do you fill your bodys engine with junk or fuel? Would you let your kids do the same?

Most moms I know do not have the time or energy to eat on a nice schedule. My mornings used to consist of toast and a banana and a cup of coffee from the espresso machine. I was getting cluster headaches...alot. I made a couple simple changes. Quit coffee cold turkey, started up the juicer again, and eating an egg or protein shake for breakfast. My cluster headaches went away. My point is if you put junk in your body its not going to perform well. If you put quality foods into your diet... it will. Our bodies are not meant to eat processed food all the time. Think about the rise of disease with the introduction of processed foods. So many of the diseases and health issues just did not exist in the staggering numbers they do today.

I used to take soy protein, which I stopped because soy is one of the most heavily sprayed crops in the world. I now use whey protein that I get from Costco in the ginormous 6 pound bags. Take a look at this article on protein supplementation by www.foodnavigator-usa.com. As an older parent it is even more important that i make sure to get adequate protein to retain my muscle mass.

I have just found a new plant based protein Plant Fusion.  The taste and texture is amazing and the best I have tried to date.  I mixed it with almond milk for the sample packets I received.  It is a pea protein isolate. Plant Fusion is hypoallergenic, easily digestable and gluten free. It has no dairy, soy or animal. It has infused BCAA (branch chain amino acids) and L-Glutamine to support muscle strength and energy. Each scoop has 21 grams of protein in one 30g scoop. It is 100% Natural and Non-GMO.

Now you get the opportunity to try a one pound container of plant fusion! Which flavor will you choose? My choice would the the chocolate raspberry.
